In the case of custody, the school must comply with directions set down by a court of law. It is the duty of the parent to advise the school of decisions handed down by the courts. When the school is given proof that the custody of a child rests with one parent only, the school will do all in its power to ensure that the child returns home to the parent to whom custody has been granted.
Parents must make children fully aware of the correct procedure to be adhered to when leaving or being collected from the school grounds. The principal should be advised immediately if a problem arises in this area. Parents must advise the school by letter if permission has been granted for the child to be collected by a person other than the legal custodian.
